Hydrogen, in the middle of nowhere. It does not belong with you, but it is not with me either. Neither here, nor there, this element is not part of any specific group; yet a friend of them all. Like me, hydrogen is a separate identity of its own. It is not unlike the metal elements of group I or foe of group VII, but neither are they the same. I am just like any other Singaporean; pampered, proud and, of course, kiasu. However, I would not call myself a true blue Singaporean either. Like hydrogen, I am not all of one, but instead, one of all.
